Roger’s favorite part of working at Winston’s Grille is the opportunity to impact lives and build meaningful relationships with both staff and guests. We like to call him “The Mayor” because he touches every guest that walks through the door, creating a welcoming and memorable experience. He is dedicated to coaching his team toward greatness, helping them refine essential life skills such as organization and interpersonal communication. For Roger, witnessing the personal and professional growth of his staff is a constant source of gratification and motivation.
When he’s not leading the team, Roger enjoys attending UNC football games and The Masters. Be sure to try our delicious Rotisserie Chicken—Roger’s go-to meal and a true crowd favorite.
Jamar Bryson
Executive Chef
Jamar’s favorite part of his role is the ability to grow within the industry while making great food a repeatable, memorable experience for every guest. He’s passionate about mentoring young culinary professionals, equipping them with the tools and mindset for long-term success. Jamar’s smile continues to shine through his dishes, bringing both warmth and flavor to every plate.
Outside the kitchen, you’ll find him whipping up impressive menus at home or cheering on Carolina games with his wife, Kelly—when they aren’t busy chasing after their three energetic boys! His go-to dish at Winston’s? The Shrimp and Grits. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s a must.
Gerardo Alvarado
Sous Chef
Gerardo values the opportunity to grow alongside knowledgeable culinary professionals while delivering exceptional food to the community. His commitment to excellence and creativity in the kitchen are key ingredients in every dish he helps bring to life.
Outside of work, Gerardo enjoys spending time at the beach and staying active on the soccer field. A loyal FC Barcelona fan, he brings the same passion to his cooking as he does to the game. His favorite dish on the menu? The Vodka Shrimp Pasta—a bold, spicy creation of his own that’s a must-try for anyone who loves a little heat.
Tyler King
Associate Manager
Tyler’s favorite part of working at Winston’s Grille is being part of what he lovingly calls his “secondary family.” He values the strong bonds formed with his team, making every day rewarding and collaborative. When he’s not with his secondary family, Tyler treasures time spent with his loved ones—especially his grandparents.
A true sports fanatic, Tyler enjoys attending NC State football games, cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team, and playing a great round of golf whenever he can. His favorite dish on the menu is our Meatball Pasta—a hearty and flavorful choice that never disappoints.
Bryant O’Neal
Associate Manager
Bryant thrives on the opportunity to grow professionally while building lasting connections with guests. With hospitality running in his blood, he’s driven by a passion for delivering remarkable service and creating memorable dining experiences for every guest.
Outside of work, Bryant enjoys spending time with his fiancée and their two dogs, Webb and Winnie. He’s a devoted Carolina Hurricanes fan and never turns down a good round of golf. His favorite dish on the menu? The French Dip—he says it’s to die for.
Olivia Karpniski
Associate Manager
Originally from Indiana and proud to be a Hoosier, Olivia brings over a decade of hospitality experience to Winston’s Grille. She is passionate about consistency—something she values deeply at Winston’s. “It’s rare in the hospitality world to find the level of consistency we have here—with the food, our guests, and our team. And there’s a real sense of connection that’s truly out of the ordinary for a restaurant.”
When she’s not working, you’ll likely find Olivia hiking in the North Carolina mountains, relaxing at home with her cat, Gilly, or honing her skills as a pickleball professional.
Her go-to meal? The French Dip with mashed potatoes—comfort food done right! Say hi next time you’re in—Olivia’s always up for a chat about hiking trails, favorite dishes, or pickleball.

Kerielle’s favorite part of her role at Winston’s Grille is helping guests turn their special occasions into truly memorable experiences. With a warm and detail-oriented approach, she takes pride in creating moments that leave a lasting impression.
Outside of work, Kerielle enjoys crafting new recipes in the kitchen, exploring the vibrant heart of Downtown Raleigh, and spending quality time with her beloved dog, Raleigh. Her go-to dish at Winston’s? The Sesame Tuna Salad—fresh, flavorful, and a perfect reflection of her taste.
